Zayed Higher Organisation honours stars of 'Ashhafan' Emirati series

Zayed Higher for People of Determination honored the stars of the Emirati social drama series "Ashhafan" and commemorated the late cast members on the occasion of its adaptation into a theatrical play titled "Ashhafan Family." The play will be performed in three shows over three days at the "Ahmed Mangoush Theater" located at the Foundation’s headquarters, supported by the main partner, the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, and in collaboration with Akkasa Media Production. The play will feature a group of talented People of Determination in acting. Over 48 years after the famous Emirati series, produced in 1976, this adaptation brings new life to the beloved classic, sparking nostalgia and honoring a piece of Emirati and Gulf drama heritage.

This recognition highlights the significant role of art in society and in enriching lives, as well as the tremendous efforts of the original cast, whose work has contributed to the series' success and its transformation into an engaging and lively theatrical experience. People of Determination with special talents in acting will bring this adaptation to life as a creative form of expression. Foundation officials emphasized the important role of art and drama in promoting human values and social solidarity.

The stars of the original series expressed their deep gratitude for this one-of-a-kind honor from a major humanitarian institution, noting that it reflects society's appreciation for art and artists. They added that this recognition motivates them to continue producing outstanding works of art and praised the prominent role of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination in supporting and encouraging People of Determination, enhancing their active participation across all fields.

This initiative by Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination is not only a tribute to the stars of the series but also to all artists and People of Determination who actively contribute to enriching the cultural and artistic landscape in the country.

The honoring ceremony was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of the Foundation, His Excellency Abdullah Al Kamali, Executive Director of the People of Determination Sector, and His Excellency Nafea Al Hammadi, Executive Director of the Support Services Sector at the Foundation. Also present were the honored actors participating in the play, the families of the late cast members, representatives from Akkasa Media Production, and a group of the Foundation’s leaders.

The play "Ashhafan Family," which will be performed over three days on October 25, 26, and 27 at the "Ahmed Mangoush Theater" at the Organization’s headquarters, continues the efforts of the Zayed Higher Organization to empower talents from various categories of People of Determination with special abilities in acting as a field of creativity. It aims to create a unique creative pathway to integrate them into the artistic and social life, giving them an opportunity to express significant events. A group of talented actors with determination, including Sultan Al Siyabi, Ghaya Said, Muzna Ahmed, and Mariam Hamdan, are participating in the play.

Directed by Mohammed Saeed and written by Abdullah Saleh, the play includes a mix of veteran and new actors who will help revive the spirit of the original drama. The cast includes prominent actors like Mohammed Yassin, Ahmed Mangoush, Adel Al Buainain, Jassim Obaid, Reihana Al Namri, and Razeeqa Tarash. Additionally, a new generation of artistic talents, including Ahoud Al Nuwis, Ahmed Mal Allah, and Reem Suleiman, along with talented People of Determination, are featured in the production.

"Ashhafan Family" addresses the contemporary challenges faced by Gulf and Arab families, examining the impact of social media platforms on daily life. The storyline revolves around family members with differing interests, highlighting how these orientations affect their personal and professional lives.
