Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination hosted a ceremony to honor the champions of willpower, the stars of the organization, members of our national teams, and achievers who participated in the Asian Para Games held in Hangzhou, China
Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination hosted a ceremony to honor the champions of willpower, the stars of the organization, members of our national teams, and achievers who participated in the Asian Para Games held in Hangzhou, China. UAE athletes achieved eight new records in various categories during this event and won a total of 11 medals, including 4 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze. Among them, 8 of these medals were won by the champions of the organization, with two gold, three silver, and two bronze medals. Additionally, our shooter, Obaid Al-Dahmani, secured a new qualification for the upcoming Paralympic Games through his performance in the Asian Para Games, increasing the number of UAE representatives in Paris 2024.
The champions of the organization excelled in securing eight medals. Our Paralympic champion, Abdullah Sultan Al-Ariyani, won a gold medal in R7 50m SH1 rifle shooting and another bronze medal in 50M R6 SH1 rifle shooting. Noura Al-Katbi won a gold medal (athletics - javelin throw), Zekra Al-Kaabi won a silver medal (athletics - shot put), and another bronze medal in the javelin throw. Saif Al-Zahiri won a silver medal (R9 SH2 50m air rifle shooting), and Saif Mohammad Al-Nuaimi won a bronze medal (R3 10m SH1 air rifle shooting), and Mohammad Al-Kaabi won a silver medal (athletics - javelin throw).
The ceremony, held at the sports hall of the Al Ain Club for People of Determination, was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Abdul Ali Al-Hamidani, Secretary-General of Zayed Higher Organization, and His Excellency Abdullah Ismail Al-Kamali, the Executive Director of the People of Determination Sector at the organization. It was also attended by members of our national team who are associated with the organization and their families, as well as several leaders of the organization. During the ceremony, the champions were adorned with flowers.
Abdullah Al-Kamali praised the achievements of our athletes in the competition and expressed the highest thanks and appreciation to our wise leadership for their constant support and care for the champions of determination. He congratulated the champions of the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination and our national team, stating that they were well-prepared and fulfilled their responsibilities by reaching the podiums and raising the flag of the country in this global event. He emphasized that the champions of the organization are a source of pride for all the people of the UAE for their efforts and sacrifices, and he added, "Thank you to everyone who contributed to achieving all the sporting achievements of people of determination. Thank you to all the families and the technical and administrative staff who were strong supporters of these champions in their journey; they are partners in this achievement."
Abdullah Al-Kamali affirmed that UAE "people of determination" sports are capable of continuing to achieve more success in major international competitions and competing for podium finishes, noting that the achievements of the champions of the organization are a source of pride and appreciation. He wished them continued dedication to achieving more accomplishments in the upcoming Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.
In turn, our champions expressed their great happiness at this humanitarian initiative by Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination and extended their appreciation to the organization and its administration for their swift recognition.
