In collaboration between Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination and the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports, and in support of the outstanding bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Arab Republic of Egypt, efforts have commenced to rehabilitate and develop 60 centers for people of determination affiliated with the ministry. This includes providing internet services to these centers, as well as internet services to 68 centers as part of the "Bridges of Hope Holding" program, sponsored and supported by "Holding" (ADQ). This initiative is part of the implementation of the joint cooperation protocol signed last November between the ministry and the organization, which includes the creation and funding of a medical caravan that travels across several provinces in Egypt to provide urgent medical care to people of determination and their families.
Nine medical caravans in Egyptian provinces
Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination announced the implementation of nine medical awareness caravans as part of a series of medical caravans across the provinces of the Republic under the sponsorship of "Holding" (ADQ). These caravans include 12 diverse medical specialties as part of the "Bridges of Hope Holding" initiative. This is in execution of the cooperation agreement between the organization and the ministry aimed at raising awareness among families of people of determination in some rural areas of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
These medical and awareness caravans aim to facilitate access for the elderly, children, and people of determination to medical services, allowing them to receive treatment and the necessary care for free. Additionally, they provide psychological support and counseling. The medical caravans include highly professional doctors specialized in family counseling and special education, covering specialties such as pediatrics, dentistry, ophthalmology, surgery, ENT, internal medicine, dermatology, obstetrics and gynecology, urology, orthopedics, and nutrition. They also feature a pharmacy for dispensing provided medications and a laboratory for necessary medical tests.
Three medical caravans in Fayoum Governorate
Medical caravans were launched from Fayoum Governorate, where three medical caravans were implemented in the villages most in need. A total of 3,655 individuals benefited, including 597 children and 3,058 men and women of various ages. In the village of Al-Amiriya, 1,398 individuals were served, including 127 children and 1,329 of various ages, with 1,374 prescriptions dispensed from the pharmacy. In the village of Al-Azb, medical examinations were conducted on 1,559 individuals, including 230 children and 1,329 men and women, with medications dispensed for 920 cases. In the village of Tabhar, medical examinations were conducted on 2,096 individuals, including 75 children and 2,021 men and women, with medications dispensed for 1,223 prescriptions.
Six medical caravans in Assiut Governorate
In Assiut Governorate, six medical caravans were implemented, with participation from Resala Association and the local youth campaign. In the youth centers of Assiut Center, the following numbers were served: 6,049 cases at Derinka Youth Center, including 149 children; 4,710 cases at Qarqas Youth Center, including 233 children; 3,441 cases at Mansoura Youth Center in Abnoub Center, including 105 children; 3,597 cases at Ma'abda Youth Center, including 163 children; 2,896 cases at Qasr El-Ma'arna Youth Center in Qusiya Center, including 150 children; and 4,350 cases at Manshiyet El-Saghra Youth Center, including 165 children.
Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, in cooperation with a local partner in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, oversaw the sponsorship of the program, supported by "Holding" (ADQ). ADQ endorsed the sponsorship and financing of the second phase of the program, which involves equipping various facilities, centers, and sports clubs to make these facilities accessible and user-friendly for people of determination in some rural areas of the Republic of Egypt.
The agreement includes the creation of a joint communication channel between the organization and the ministry, where Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination will coordinate and supervise the project to facilitate its implementation and achieve the desired objectives according to the planned schedule. Meanwhile, the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports implements the "Bridges of Hope Holding" program and coordinates the medical caravan program. The agreement also stipulates that the organization will be provided with monthly reports containing all the data related to the details of the project implementation.
During the first phase, a remarkable achievement was realized under the cooperation protocol between the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination and the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports in the "Bridges of Hope Holding" program, supported by "Holding" (ADQ). The program successfully transferred expertise and experience in supporting families of people of determination across the Egyptian Republic through family counseling programs and developed 68 speech therapy centers in Egyptian villages within a record time of one and a half years, initially planned to be completed in three years. This success was made possible with the support of various state apparatuses in Egypt, benefiting 16,898 individuals with disabilities through 480,976 speech therapy sessions across 68 centers in 27 provinces.
It is worth noting that the "Bridges of Hope Holding" program aims to develop 60 centers in several Egyptian villages to provide comprehensive services to support and empower people of determination with various disabilities, and awareness programs for their families and guardians to develop their skills on how to manage their children. A team of social workers and speech therapy specialists will organize workshops to identify learning difficulties and the challenges they face, equipping them with the necessary specialized skills to overcome these challenges. The program also includes initiatives designed to provide psychological and social support. Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination will establish knowledge and expertise transfer mechanisms to offer further support to the families of people of determination, supervised by relevant authorities in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
