Under the patronage of Sheikha Maitha Bint Ahmed bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Maitha Bint Ahmed Al Nahyan Foundation for Community and Cultural Initiatives, in cooperation with the Zayed Higher Organization For People of Determination, and organized by the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, the Foundation launched the "Khair Zayed" initiative, a charity event led by a group of People of Determination who distributed Iftar meals to workers in a labor camp in Abu Dhabi, in conjunction with activities accompanying the Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work.

    Meeting the volunteers, Sheikha Maitha bint Ahmed bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, praised their efforts and their positive spirit for giving and for volunteering in community activities, which embodies the importance of the initiative and reflects the spirit of giving that people of determination carry, and their desire for community participation.

     

     “You are an inspiration, and we are very proud and happy to be here with you today to support your community work. You an important part of society, and you embody what the 'Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work' is about, reinforcing the importance of compassion and community togetherness that this day commemorates."

      

    In her address to the volunteers, Shaikha Maitha noted that the “Khair Zayed" initiative reflects the solidarity and joint coordination of the concerned authorities in the country towards launching collaborative initiatives, programs, and activities in support of our society, and in implementing positive social value ideas, that embody the wise visions and aspirations of the leadership in driving the concepts of giving, and spreading the culture of benevolence and community participation and engagement.

     

    Sheikha Maitha bint Ahmed bin Mubarak Al Nahyan appreciated the Red Crescent Authority and the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination for their role in organising this successful event, and for their pioneering efforts to serve and support People of Determination, emphasizing their importance as a community group that is care for, with a focus to integrate and empower them socially, including them in initiatives that fosters their spirit for giving.

     

    His excellency Abdulla Abdulalee Al Humaidan, the General Secretary of the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, said “we are very proud and privileged to be named after our founding father, who was a sea of wisdom and inspiration to was all, instilling in us the importance of giving, togetherness, love and kindness for each other, compassion and the importance of working together and building for the greater good of our community and humanity. It is with great pride that the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination supports the “Khair Zayed" initiative, that coincides with us marking the Zayed Humanitarian Work day".

    His Excellency Abdulla Al Humaidan added “we would like to convey our deepest appreciation to the Shaikha Maitha Bint Ahmed Al Nahyan Foundation for their undying support towards our organisation's initiatives and in supporting People of Determination. We at the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination strive to encourage our People of Determination members to actively participate in volunteer work to support their community to foster the spirit of giving and positivity to support a healthy integration into society.

     

    Commenting on the initiative, his Excellency Salem Al Rais Al Ameri, Deputy Secretary-General for local Affairs at the Emirates Red Crescent Abu Dhabi said : “We praise the “Khair Zayed" initiative by the Shaikha Maitha Bint Ahmed Al Nahyan Foundation for Community and Cultural initiatives, that delivered Iftar meals to workers in a Labor Camp in Abu Dhabi".

    His Excellency Salem Al Ameri, further added : “Humanitarian work and collaboration between strategic partners is vital towards achieving the organisations objectives and mission, and The Emirates Red Crescent is proud to be a strategic partner in supporting the “Khair Zayed" initiative. We commend the Shaikha Maitha Bint Ahmed Al Nahyan Foundation for Community & Cultural initiatives for initiating this activity, and for their efforts towards fostering the spirit of giving, and volunteer work within the community, and for their support towards integrating People of Determination within the society and volunteer work, enabling them to further express their love for giving, in addition to giving them the opportunity to gain new skills and experiences.
