Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, the organization, in collaboration and coordination with ADNOC and Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), and Lotus Holistic Group Abu Dhabi, is hosting the 12th International Conference on Advances in Autism Research from April 27th to April 30th, 2024, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Mr. Abdullah Al Hameidan, the Secretary-General of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, stated that hosting Abu Dhabi for the 12th International Conference on Advances in Autism Research stems from the success of the previous editions of the conference and the achievements in the field of care and rehabilitation for various categories of people of determination, especially individuals with autism. He expressed hope that these successes would continue through this global gathering, where experiences are exchanged, fruitful experiments are presented, and various topics are objectively and scientifically discussed to enrich the experiences and experiments of all participants and specialists in this field to support the development of services, care methods, and rehabilitation for children, youth, and adults with autism spectrum disorder.
In addition, during the press conference held at the organization's headquarters, it was emphasized that the conference aims to raise awareness about autism spectrum disorder and maximize the utilization of practical research and recent studies in this field. It provides a real opportunity for participants, including experts, staff of the organization, institutions, and relevant entities from various countries around the world, as well as parents of individuals with autism, to access the best practices related to autism.
Mr. Abdullah Al Hameidan stated: "The conference will continue for four days at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, featuring 20 sessions covering the latest developments in autism research. There were 18 sessions at the 2023 conference. The program includes over 40 workshops, whereas the previous conference included 4 workshops and 3 seminars, along with several dialogue sessions with parents and decision-makers. More than 100 speakers from over 20 countries, specialized in behavior modification and biomedical advancements, will participate. In the 2023 conference, there were 52 speakers. The presence of this multitude of experts and participants contributes to generating useful and impactful recommendations in the field of autism care. Our aim is to provide the best means of treatment and continue on the path of humanitarian work to ensure the sustainability of the UAE's leadership in caring for all humanitarian aspects."
Dr. Abdulhamid Abdelhay, member of the executive committee and head of the media committee for the conference, stated: "Preparations for the conference were conducted in collaboration and coordination between Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, ADNOC, SEHA, and Lotus Holistic Group for Complementary Medicine. Invitations were extended to renowned doctors, researchers, and specialists to participate in the conference to present the latest developments in research and methods for the care and treatment of various forms of autism spectrum disorder."
