- Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, represented by the Abu Dhabi Autism Centre and supported by Aldar Group, launched its first charitable art exhibition
Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, represented by the Abu Dhabi Autism Centre and supported by Aldar Group, launched its first charitable art exhibition for individuals with autism at Yas Mall today. The exhibition, themed "With Your Support, We Create", will run from 31 May until 4 June 2023, showcasing 50 artworks created by talented students with autism in the fields of drawing, painting and visual arts.
The exhibition aims to nurture the artistic talents of students at the Abu Dhabi Autism Centre, while also raising awareness about their abilities in the local community. Additionally, the event encourages the students to continue developing their talents and participate in future art exhibitions, fostering a sense of competition and self-worth among the participants and their families.
His Excellency Abdulla Abdul-Ali Al-Humaidan, Secretary-General of the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, attended the opening along with senior executives, including Faisal Falaknaz, Acting Group Chief Financial and Sustainability Officer at Aldar, Salwa Al Maflahi, Director of Sustainability and CSR at Aldar, and Musbah Abu Jarad, Executive Director - Integrated Facilities Management, Handover and Sustainability at Provis.
Commenting on the announcement, Salwa Al Maflahi, Director of Sustainability and CSR at Aldar, said: “We are proud to support this initiative, collaborating with the Zayed Higher Organization to provide a platform for children to display their incredible artworks. This exhibition at Yas Mall aligns with our commitment to create inclusive and accessible spaces. At Aldar, we strive to embed diversity and inclusion principles across our assets, ensuring that everyone feels welcome.”
Aisha Al-Mansouri, Director of the Abu Dhabi Autism Centre of the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, stated that the exhibition is part of their efforts to promote interactions between children with autism and the community, enhancing their artistic, sensory and cognitive abilities. The event showcases inspiring works by students who have shown excellence, aligning with the foundation's mission to empower people of determination. Proceeds from the sale of the artworks will directly support the students and their families.
She further added, "Many of our autistic children possess exceptional gifts, and at the centre, we provide observation, instruction, training and various activities to help them refine their talents in sketching, art, athletics, memorising The Holy Quran, and computer use.”
