Establishing the First People of Determination Archery Team in Abu Dhabi
Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Organization and the Al Forsan International Sports Resort
Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination announced the establishment of the first visually impaired Paralympic shooting team in the Middle East and North Africa region, consisting of seven Male players and one female player. The organization also announced the first people of determination archery team, under the orthopedic impairment disability classification, in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, consisting of five Male players and one Female player, in cooperation with Al Forsan International Sports Resort.
His Excellency Abdullah Ismail Al Kamali, Executive Director of the People of Determination Sector of the organization, stated that this step, undertaken by Zayed Higher Organization, comes within the framework of initiatives to highlight both the physical and intellectual skills of people of determination toward securing international recognition, as part of the organization's strategic plan for its affiliated sports clubs and athletes.
He added during the press conference held at the headquarters of the international resort, in the presence of His Excellency Sultan Muhammad Al Kaabi, CEO of Al Forsan Holding Group, people of determination a athletes from both teams and representatives from both entities, that the preparation for including this sport within the activities of the organization was done in coordination and cooperation with the Al Forsan International Sports Resort through the formalization of a partnership. The strategy to incorporate new sports disciplines, teams and expertise to the organization's dedicated sports clubs for people of determination adding new teams and Paralympic games to the Foundation's clubs, is central to the inclusion of people of determination, allowing them to refine their athletic talents and acquire new skills, facilitating their participation in a wide range of sports disciplines at an international level, affording them the opportunity to represent their country and the organization on the on the winner's podium of international sports competitions and events.
His Excellency Abdullah Al Kamali offered his sincere thanks and appreciation to the management of the Al Forsan Resort, for providing the opportunity and the resources to support people of determination, affording them the opportunity to demonstrate their athletic talents and skills, noting the capability of the resort and its extensive resources to host international competitions for people of determination.
He emphasized the keenness of the organization's board of directors, headed by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to provide exemplary care and rehabilitation services for people of determination, in accordance with the highest international standards, adding that the organization appreciates the role played by all entities that work to support, care and rehabilitate people of determination, noting the organization's formalization of cooperation with Al Forsan, in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding.
His Excellency Abdullah Ismail Al Kamali detailed the inclusion of Mahra Rashid Al Marzouqi on the new shooting team for visually impaired people of determination, at just seven years old, Mahra is the team's youngest athlete, and represents the importance of nurturing talent from a young age and growing these incredible athletes into true champions who will represent our people of determination on winner's podiums on a global scale.
As part of the announcement of the new sports teams, a memorandum of understanding was signed by representatives of both entities. The memorandum was signed by His Excellency Abdullah Ismail Al Kamali, Executive Director of the People of Determination Sector, on behalf of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, and by His Excellency Sultan Muhammad Al Kaabi, CEO of Al Forsan Holding Group on behalf of the Al Forsan International Sports Resort.
The memorandum of understanding stipulates that the two entities will cooperate in establishing the first visually impaired people of determination shooting team in the Middle East, as well as the first archery team that will compete in archery competitions in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Specialized trainers, dedicated resources and specifically designed facilities will be made available to support these athletes of determination, nurturing each team members specific skills and meeting their individual needs.
As part of the agreement, Zayed Higher organization will nominate athletes of determination to participate in the newly established sports, as well as providing training uniforms that include the Al Forsan logo for the teams. The organization will also provide specialized trainers and resource in phase one, in addition to advertising and promoting offers and discounts for the resort, as well as activities and events across the organization's centers and online platforms.
At the beginning of the ceremony, His Excellency Sultan Mohammed Al Kaabi, CEO of Al Forsan Holding Group, welcomed the attendees, headed by Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination officials. He stressed that the Al Forsan Holding Group and all its subsidiaries believe in the importance of community participation, key to which is having an effective and influential role and presence in community activities, especially caring for people of determination and securing their social inclusion, in implementation of the initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, may God protect him.
Al Kaabi invited all institutions to activate their role in community participation, and thanked the board of directors of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, headed by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for the opportunity to support people of determination.
He detailed the organization's great pride in signing the Memorandum of Understanding, according to which the Al Forsan International Sports Resort will provide archery training facilities for people of determination athletes and teams, and create appropriate and accessible facilities for people of determination at the resort's sports, recreational and public areas, in addition to providing special offers and discounts for people of determination and organization employees on all annual membership rates, activities, and accommodation at the Al-Forsan Marriott Hotel.
In addition to signing the Memorandum of Understanding, a press conference was held at the Al Forsan International Sports Resort to announce the formation of the first visually impaired archery team in the Middle East, consisting of seven athletes, as well as announcing the first mobility impaired archery team for people of determination in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, consisting of five athletes, both male and female, in the presence of the athletes, their parents and a number of officials from both entities, in strict adherence to health, safety and preventive directives.
